Drinking water:

Drinking water In the mountains it is important to drink water and in the dry subtropical climate you are often thirsty, especially when walking, so we recommend drinking boiled or specially filtered water. When you go hiking you will have sweat and thirst, but we do not recommend drinking a lot of water, especially in cold weather and during hunger, because you will lose a lot of energy and you will be weak for the next days. We know from our experience that many travellers will have diarrhea.

Mountain trekking guides:

Trekking is an active type of travel in Kyrgyzstan, on the route there will be different expected sensations in the mountains, and sometimes incomprehensible weather conditions are expected, therefore we recommend also hiring experienced and local guides, they will inform you more about their regions and can recognize the secrets of the mountain. we have such experienced and English speaking guides and they will be organized through us. You can also get more detailed information about all regional trekking tours from the team of CBT Sary-Mogol.

About the camping gear

We are the CBT Sary Mogol teams who organize trips and provide information about all tours and regions of southern Kyrgyzstan. In some places, you will need equipment: (tent, sleeping bags, mat, gas, etc.). in some places you do not need field equipment, for example, along the tourist routes in Tulpar-Kol, Tuyuk, Bouke and after the Jiptik pass (on the way to Kojo-Kelen), there will be yurt camps with all beds and meals; and so on, there are in some places of Chon-Alay and Kichik-Alay regions, there the conditions are also different, so you should consult when receiving a tour.

Local yurt camps and home stays during the trek

As the Kyrgyz have known since ancient times in the countryside, the Kyrgyz spend their summer lives on pastures, some have yurts, and some have houses and tourists. Gradually, their number is growing, especially where the tourist flow is growing and where trekking routes pass. It is good, on the one hand, to spend nights or eat, but many of them are new and do not have experience in service, so if you get a little info about them from our office, it will be easy for your upcoming trip. Some our trekking tours conducted in Kichik Alay range and during the treks where the overnights there are, local home stays will be ready for your accommodation and prepare the food (dinner and breakfast)

About horseback riding

When people began to live in Central Asia, they together bred the horses and the horses played a big role in everyday life, as well as in conducting various events of national games and others.
Horse riding
is a very active thing and adrenalin, especially for people who live in the mountains, and in the villages, they will have very convenient and quick weapons. Nonetheless, already in modern life this is going to be replaced by technology, however, for all kinds of national wedding events it is impossible to imagine that without a horse there will be any events and for prominent entertainments used largish high-priced horses. According to tourism activities was an understanding and separation depending on the type of riding, for example, trekking, just riding for a short periods of time or learning to ride and galloping etc. In all these areas, we have a good opportunity to organize programs for all these types of horse riding even including horse tours.
It is important to know how to ride the Kyrgyz horses, because riding is this serious type of the travel and there are some regulations for managing while on the horse, as grazing and saddling a horse. If you do not have experience, we recommend that you first receive instructions, and then, accompanied by a guide, go on a trip. Usually, all locals ride horses without helmets - this has been a habit since childhood and the guides are professional on their horses, but for your trips on the trek we will ask your skills and if needed to provide you with helmet and leggings so we will consider the options according to the level of route. The usual saddle in our region was made with wood and it will be a little inconvenient for your first riding and by the time you will get used to it and now some horses have a simple saddle, which is made with an iron tube like a Russian saddle, it more comfortable.

Riding rules:
Hold the reins while riding, and after dismounting, don't leave until the horse is tethered or tied to the ground. •
Manage the horse to go (release the bridle on the normal position and say "CHO" or just kick to stomach of horse by foot with stirrup) and for stop without any command just pull back the bridle to yourself. •
if the horse jumps or rushes forward and runs without stopping, then immediately pull the reins two or three times.
Horse care:
These rules will help you while riding a horse
- If the horse sweats while riding, do not feed too much, recommended after a few hours' rest. But if you just go out for a short time, like for photos, and then continue riding again, at this time, eating a little is not a problem
- Do not skip water after sweating and when the horse is hungry.
- Do not dress on the horse or while riding (he may be frightened and fall you to the ground)
- Don't get on a horse in shorts (our saddle is made of felt and causes itching)
- Don't approach at night or in the morning without looking at the rider (some have a habit of not wanting to catch anyone but the owner)
- We use male horses for riding, so when he sees female horses he will try to attack and go there, but a very important point is stopping and turning onother way. It is controlled only by the bridle. "You need to turn the horse in the opposite direction and go a little from afar".
